How Much DO You Acutally Know Yaya?!

4 April 2017

Funny you should ask . . .

We already hit the story of the number 42, so we'll leave that aside . . . it has absolutely nothing to do with today's story anyway!

Your Uncle Jack was a fun little boy . . . he lived in his own world . . . liked things his way . . . his mind went about 100 miles an hour! He found his words pretty early too, and just like that he turned into one of the most inquisitive kids I've ever met!

His questions, however, rarely made sense . . . I wish I had recorded all of them!

One particular day, when he was about 3 or 4, he and his mom were on their way over to the house when he asked her something like this one:

"What time will it be if the sun is on the other side of the universe?" (probably not his exact question, but neither your Auntie M nor I can remember it)

She had tired of his endless questions that day and simply told him to "Ask Aunt Yo when we get there!"

So he did . . . as soon as he walked in the door . . . the ensuing conversation went something like this:

"Aunt Yo, what time will it be if the sun is on the other side of the universe?"

Knowing how Jack's little mind typically worked . . . the fact that a simple answer would never do . . . I shot back "Well Jack, is the moss on the north or south side of the tree?"

"Ummmm, south."

"Is the moon in the northern or southern hemisphere?"

"Northern!"

"Are the toes on your left foot cold?"

"No!"

"Did you get out of the right or left side of your bed?"

"Left!"

"Well, obviously it would be 4:27pm!"

Wide eyed, Jack turned to his mom and exclaimed "See, Aunt Yo DOES know everything!"

I have never figured out exactly how his brain works . . . even to this day . . . he is, however, one smart cookie!
